In heavy seas off the island of Skrova, a male killer whale breaks the surface — powerful, focused, headning for the rest of the family. The water is restless, movement everywhere. Waves rise and fall as salt spray fills the air, demanding full presence from both human and animal alike.
This moment was captured from an open boat in rough conditions, where balance, timing, and instinct mattered as much as the camera itself that was wet even if hidden many times inside the floating suit when water splashed over me and the rest of the passengers.
What remains is a portrait of strength shaped by resistance — a reminder that nature does not perform, it simply is.
Even this were true action for us on the boat, the family were feeding calm and beautiful i am sure in the same way as for 10 000 years ago. I do believe we are truly lucky to be able to view this spectacle in this time in this universe.
