This photograph captures glacially polished bedrock on the island of Hönö on the Swedish west coast. The smooth surface was shaped during the last Ice Age more than 11 000 years ago, when massive glaciers slowly moved across the landscape, carving subtle lines and textures into the stone.
Part of the visual series Glacial Formations. A special combined price is available when collecting multiple works.
What we see today is the quiet result of long natural processes. The rock carries traces of pressure, movement and time — a reminder that form and beauty often emerge gradually, shaped over thousands of years.
Standing here creates a sense of stillness and perspective. Nothing has been added, nothing arranged. The surface simply reflects an ongoing journey through time, where nature continues its patient work.
